The Remote Mom Collective Podcast, Season 1 Episode 3
In our latest episode, we dive deep into the essential strategies and insights moms need to transition to or excel in a remote career. Drawing from my own experiences since 2007 and balancing motherhood since 2015, this episode is packed with practical advice you're going to love.
One crucial topic covered in this episode is finding remote work, which can be particularly challenging for moms transitioning from in-person roles. From frequent relocations, especially for military spouses, to misconceptions about juggling childcare with remote work, we cover a lot of ground. Having relocated multiple times due to my husband's military career, I can personally vouch for the consistency and flexibility remote work can bring.
One of the biggest misconceptions about remote work is the belief that it can be seamlessly integrated around a child's schedule. The reality is, remote jobs often require specific online hours and concerted productivity — making childcare necessary during those times. Clear communication with your employer about expectations and required flexibility is essential.
